Tested for your safety

At West Coast Cruizers, rider safety begins long before your e-bike reaches your doorstep. Every West Coast Cruizers e-bike is manufactured to meet rigorous safety and quality standards through independent third-party testing.

Our ebikes have been thoroughly tested by TÜV Rheinland, one of the world's most respected product testing and certification organizations, to verify compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) 16 CFR Part 1512, the federal bicycle safety standard governing the design, construction, and performance of bicycles sold in the United States.

In addition, our lithium-ion battery systems have been independently tested and certified to UL 2271 by SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection, and certification company. SGS operates more than 2,500 laboratories and facilities worldwide, helping manufacturers verify the safety, quality, and performance of products across virtually every industry.

These independent evaluations help ensure that our bicycles and battery systems meet recognized safety standards, giving our customers added confidence in the products they ride.

While no product can eliminate every risk associated with cycling, independent testing and certification demonstrate our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality electric bicycles for every ride.

E-Bike Safety

Ride Smart. Ride Safe.

At West Coast Cruizers, your safety is our highest priority. Electric bicycles are an enjoyable, efficient, and environmentally friendly way to travel, but like any vehicle, they should be operated responsibly and maintained properly.

We encourage every rider to become familiar with their e-bike, understand the laws in their area, and follow safe riding practices every time they ride.

Before Every Ride

We recommend performing a quick safety inspection before heading out:

  • Check tire pressure and inspect      for damage.
  • Test both front and rear brakes.
  • Verify the battery is securely locked in place and adequately charged.
  • Ensure handlebars, pedals, and seat are properly tightened.
  • Confirm that front and rear lights are functioning if riding in low-light conditions.
  • Inspect the bike for any loose hardware or unusual noises.

A simple pre-ride inspection can help prevent accidents and extend the life of your e-bike.

Wear Proper Safety Equipment

Always wear a properly fitted helmet that meets applicable safety standards.

We also recommend:

  • Eye protection
  • Bright or reflective clothing
  • Gloves for improved grip
  • Closed-toe shoes with good traction

Even experienced riders benefit from wearing appropriate protective equipment.

Know the Rules Where You Ride

E-bike laws vary by state, county, and municipality. Regulations may include:

  • Helmet requirements
  • Age restrictions
  • Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 e-bike regulations
  • Where e-bikes are permitted (bike paths, trails, sidewalks, and roadways)
  • Speed limits and local operating      requirements

Please review your local laws before riding. We have provided helpful resources below to assist you.

Lithium Battery Safety

Your lithium-ion battery is one of the most important components of your e-bike. Proper handling and storage help maximize performance and reduce safety risks.

Follow these recommendations:

  • Use only the charger supplied or approved for your battery.
  • Never modify the battery or      electrical system.
  • Charge the battery in a dry,  well-ventilated area.
  • Keep the battery away from      excessive heat, open flames, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not charge a battery that has been dropped, damaged, or exposed to water.
  • Store the battery in a cool, dry location when not in use.
  • Keep batteries away from children and combustible materials.
  • If the battery shows signs of      swelling, unusual odor, overheating, leaking, or physical damage,      discontinue use immediately and contact us before attempting to charge or operate the bicycle.

Proper battery care helps extend battery life while promoting safe operation.

Ride Responsibly

Always ride at a speed appropriate for traffic, weather, and road conditions. Be aware of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles around you.

Remember to:

  • Obey all traffic laws and signals.
  • Use hand signals when turning.
  • Avoid distractions while riding.
  • Never operate an e-bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Slow down on wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Use extra caution when riding at  night.

Assembly and Maintenance

For your safety, West Coast Cruizers strongly recommends that every new bicycle be assembled, adjusted, and inspected by an experienced bicycle technician or qualified bike shop before its first ride.

If professional assembly is not available, carefully follow the Owner's Manual and perform all recommended safety checks before operating your bicycle.

Routine maintenance is essential for safe operation. Inspect your bicycle regularly and replace worn or damaged components promptly.

Helpful Safety Resources

Below you'll find important resources regarding:

  • Helmet safety information
  • Local and state e-bike laws
  • Lithium-ion battery charging and storage guidelines
  • Product safety information
  • Consumer safety recalls (if applicable)

We encourage every rider to review these resources regularly, as laws and safety recommendations may change over time.

Our Commitment

At West Coast Cruizers, we design our bicycles with quality and rider safety in mind. However, safe operation ultimately depends on responsible use, proper maintenance, and following applicable laws and manufacturer recommendations.

Thank you for choosing West Coast Cruizers. We wish you many safe and enjoyable miles ahead.
